What is Microblading?

Microblading eyebrows is a form of semi-permanent makeup that creates natural, beautiful eyebrows with a handheld microblade. It’s perfect for people who have overplucked or those who want to define, darken or reshape their eyebrows.

When you come Mystic Retreat for Microblading, you can expect only the best.  Our microblading artist is a certified Physician Assistant, with a strong attention to detail.  We can give definition to what you already have, or change the shape completely.  If your brows are very thin, or alternatively large and untamed, we can make them exactly what you are looking for without the need to pencil them in. Our priority is focused on exceeding expectations in order to make you look and feel wonderful.

Your First Visit

On your first visit, we will discuss what style eyebrows are best for your face shape.  You will have numbing cream applied during this time in order to make the microblading process more comfortable.

After numbing, we will use calipers to make specific and detailed measurements, and draw the outline of your eyebrows. Once the outline is perfected, we will start the microblading process.

Technically, microblading is a form of eyebrow tattooing. But unlike traditional tattooing which uses a machine, our microblading artist applies each hairstroke with a handheld microblade. This produces a very fine line that resembles real hair. Each individual hairstroke is hand drawn by the artist and blended in with the client’s existing eyebrow hair. The results are gorgeous and very lifelike.

This process is repeated 2-3 times to fill them in and redefine the "hairs."  Once we are finished, we clean your skin  and apply an antiseptic balm, which we send home with you to reapply several times a day for the next week.

Following Procedure

Your brows will appear very dark at first, and may scab and peel over the following week.  These lines will fade significantly, anywhere from 30-50% depending on your skin type.  This is why it is imperative for you to follow up within 1-3 months for a touch up.  During the touch up we go over the same lines again, and fill in any areas that may have faded since the initial procedure. Result can last an average of a year or longer.
